Personal Information (Biography): Following completion of specialty training in pediatrics, Dr. Dobrin served two years in the U.S. Army (1972-1974). He and Dr. Ernie Swihart then established South Lake Pediatrics in November 1974. He has served in leadership positions at the Minneapolis Metropolitan Pediatric Society, St. David's School Board, and a local health plan. Dr. Dobrin is also a clinical associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. He is actively involved in leadership and teaching positions within South Lake Pediatrics. Dr. Dobrin enjoys serving the needs of children. He believes strongly in each encounter with children and their families as being an opportunity to both restore health and prevent disease. He enjoys sports of all types, both as a participant and a spectator and tries to run 10-15 miles per week. He is a proponent of healthful life styles, particularly with regard to diet and exercise. He spends his off hours with family and friends and regularly attends classical music presentations and the Guthrie Theater.
