Personal Information (Biography): Burton is a Twin Cities native. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Biomedical emphasis) with high distinction from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology in 1979. He then attended Medical School at the University, earned his degree in 1983, and completed pediatric residency in 1986. After 11 years at the University he decided it was time to move to the suburbs and has practiced at the Wayzata Children's Clinic ever since. Dr. Benson's special interests include premature infants and child-ren with allergies. He has been chairman of the Medicine Department of Children's Hospitals and Clinics - Minneapolis, is Board Certified in Pediatrics, and most recently completed his Maintenance of Certification requirements in 2014. Burt and his wife Joan have two grown daughters and a son and live in Chanhassen. They enjoy skiing, biking, camping, and traveling.
